VistaPrint Limited, the leading online supplier of high-quality graphic design services and customized printed products to small businesses and consumers, today announced that the company has been awarded three more patents for a total of 11 in the United States and 14 world-wide. The company has more than 40 pending patent applications world-wide. Patent number 7,120,634 was issued on October 10, 2006 and adds to VistaPrint's family of online product design and customization patents covering VistaPrint's suite of Web-based tools. It allows a user to prepare and view a document design image that matches the appearance of the document the customer receives in print. Two additional patents were issued on Tuesday November 7, 2006. Patent number 7,133,149 covers methods for assembling multiple individual print jobs into an aggregate print job based on individual product size. This new patent adds to VistaPrint's family of patents related to automated ganging of print jobs and is part of what enables VistaPrint to reach economies of scale while printing high-quality, low-cost print jobs in small quantities. Patent 7,133,050 is related to VistaPrint's "smart cropping" technology. This technology enables VistaPrint to retrieve an image and automatically size and crop it no matter the product layout. Smart cropping is part of what enables VistaPrint to offer thousands of customizable template designs and add new ones seamlessly.
