Press release from the issuing company

Torrance, CA—November 9, 2006 – Xplor International, the worldwide electronic document systems association today announced that Kevin Craine, MBA author and longtime industry contributor, will host a day-long course titled after his popular book, “Designing a Document Strategy,” which is now sold in over 30 countries worldwide and required reading at universities throughout the United States, Canada and Australia. The course will be taught on Friday, March 2, 2007 from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM at Xplor’s Document University in conjunction with Graphics of the Americas/Xplor Exhibition at the Miami Beach Convention Center, Miami Beach, Florida. The course is intended for executives, managers, technicians and consultants who want to implement a document strategy for a large organization. The day-long course, comprised of six individual classes, describes a five-phase process that will guide readers through the design of document strategy tailored to their particular situations. Cause-effect diagrams, flow charts and return on investment models will be presented in easy to understand terms. In addition, case study examples demonstrate how the methods in the book can be applied in the real world. As a result, attendees will be in position to make well-informed assessments and formulate document strategies that will make meaningful and beneficial improvements. “Over the years there has been a lot of talk about the importance of a document strategy, but until now, there hasn’t been a useful process to follow to design an effective document strategy, “said Kevin Craine, author and instructor. “ This course and the accompanying text, provides a process to follow that will guide meaningful assessments, targeted improvements and measurable outcomes.” Kevin Craine is author of the popular book, “Designing a Document Strategy.” In addition, Mr. Craine has over 25 years “in the trenches” managing large document services organizations in the health care, pharmaceutical and aerospace industries. His experience runs the gamut of document processing and includes MIS printing, on-demand digital publishing and online document presentment; as well as pre-press, graphic design; offset production and high-volume mail operations. He is the founding editor of Document magazine and is an authority on corporate process improvement and document strategies. He received his BA in organizational communications and his MBA in the management of science and technology. “All of us agree that a sound document strategy is important, but many of us need guidance when it comes to developing one, “said Skip Henk, EDP, president and CEO of Xplor International. “Kevin’s course will have the answer as in each class will examine the original text of his book and leads the class through practical application by building on each previous session.” Xplor Document University will host over 20 courses designed for specific groups and segmented by subject matter. Attendees can enroll in the Designing a Document Strategy Course for $525 or can purchase a Platinum Passport which will allow access to any one of 130 classes as well as evening networking events. The Platinum Passport is available for $1495 and allows you to mix and match the courses and classes.
