PIA/GATF's Call for Nominations: Lewis Memorial Lifetime Achievement Award

Pittsburgh, PA, November 2, 2006 -- Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (PIA/GATF) is seeking to honor someone who has made a major, long-term contribution to the printing industry. Nominations for the Lewis Memorial Lifetime Achievement Award are due December 1, 2006. Established in 1950, the Lewis Memorial Lifetime Achievement Award is recognized throughout the graphic arts industry as the highest honor awarded to any individual in our business. Named for Abraham Lewis, founder of Graphic Arts Monthly, and his sons Louis and Myron, the award honors the business leaders who have gone far beyond the standard obligations to become a significant force in shaping the business of producing printed communications. A nominee for the Lewis Award must: Be widely recognized as having made a major impact to the graphic arts industry Have a record of participating in both local and national professional activities Have been active in the industry over a period of time and involved in many facets of the graphic arts industry Not be an employee of any graphic arts association The nominee need not be a member of the Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (PIA/GATF) and is not limited by age, sex, race, or geographic location and may be either living or deceased. Once a nominee receives this award, they are ineligible to win again. The recipient of the Lewis Award will be honored before hundreds of peers at the 2007 PIA/GATF Presidents Conference, March 4ñ7, in Chandler, AZ.
