Objective Advantage Launches new export feature in version 1.3 of OASymbio Desktop

Press release from the issuing company

Houston, TX. 30th October 2006. Objective Advantage (OA) has launched a new export feature in version 1.3 of OASymbio Desktop, its workflow software which connects in-line and off-line systems into a virtual in-lineô solution. With the introduction of the export feature, print service providers and their clients benefit from enhanced communications that facilitates greater accuracy of the print job during the initial design stage, which in turn speeds up production by reducing the time for jobs to be delivered to the printer. The new export feature enables a mock-up job template to be prepared at the prepress stage, including specific data such as bleed, trim, crease and fold parameters which are required to design, print and finish a range of products, such as tri-fold brochures, folders, postcards, business cards, etc. Once this pdf mock-up template has been created, print shops can forward it to the graphic designer, who then imports the template as a background layer into Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator or Quark. The export feature also provides the ability to export directly into Adobe InDesign CS2 creating a document with the correct guides. This allows graphic designers to concentrate on the artistic design content of the product, without worrying about specific print and finishing parameters. In addition, printers can be assured that when they receive the final PDF, it can be produced accurately without further intervention that might slow down production. "The export feature is designed to remove confusion and simplify communication between graphic artists and printers," commented Gareth O'Brien CEO of Objective Advantage. "All too often, print production is interrupted by having to go back to the graphic artists when their designs don't match the requirements of the finished product layout. This new function eliminates such inefficiencies which in turn reduces production time and makes for a much more productive workflow." He continued, "We demonstrated this feature to a cross section of graphic artists and prepress production personnel at Graph Expo and were delighted with the positive reaction. All were confident that this would be a useful addition to their design and print operations."
