Dalim Software approves Alwan CMYK Optimizer Server

Press release from the issuing company

Kehl, Germany: Dalim Software, a global leader in the design and development of innovative and automated professional production workflow software for prepress, print, packaging, advertising and publishing, announces that it has approved Alwan CMYK Optimizer ServerTM for use with its range of workflow software. This certification is part of Dalim Software’s ongoing strategy to approve expert technologies that complement its production software. Developed by Alwan Color Expertise, Alwan CMYK Optimizer Server utilizes ICC DeviceLink profiles at the heart of its technology. It allows a premedia or printing company to check and automatically and dynamically correct color and ink weight characteristics of incoming files to meet defined standards, prior to sending them to film or plate. Alwan CMYK Optimizer Server complements DALiM TWiST’s existing high-end color management features. Its optimization process ensures output files are compliant to individual printing press profiles in order to improve file color rendering and quality, shorten make-ready times and achieve stable printing conditions. In addition, by ensuring ink values contained in the job files are linked to the destination press, Alwan CMYK Optimizer Server can provide up to a 30% saving in ink usage and, as a result, avoid potential set-off problems. The DALiM TWiST automated production workflow has a high-level of functionality including: database-driven production, web-based job tracking and administration, advanced ink control, etc. Including more than 150 standard workflow tools, DALiM TWiST permits precise configurations for publishing workflow requirements quickly and easily. For example: automating page pairing, file conversions (e.g. PostScript to PDF/X-1a or PDF/X-3), applying ICC color profiles to very complex specific workflows, and automatic delivery of 1-bit TIFF or imposed PDF files to multiple sites. “We continually evaluate technologies that could provide additional benefits to our clients and over the last few years have approved a range of third-party color management applications that can be used in conjunction with our product line. Adherence to open standards underlines all of our product development and gives users high levels of functionality and flexibility within a highly streamlined workflow,” explains Stéphane Georges, Software Product Manager, Dalim Software. "Alwan Color Expertise is dedicated to standardization and the development of innovative color management solutions for use in high production and demanding prepress and print environments,” says Elie Khoury. “Receiving Dalim Software approval provides confidence to our customers that they can achieve first class results by integrating both systems within a local or remote, automatic production system.“
