Kodak Draws Large Crowds, Attention for New Solutions and Services at Graph Expo

Press release from the issuing company

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Oct. 26 -- Enthusiastic crowds, strong reaction to the KODAK MARKETMOVER Network, and brisk sales marked a successful Graph Expo and Converting Expo for Kodak. “Graph Expo and Converting Expo 2006 showed the health of the graphic communications industry,” said Kevin Joyce, Managing Director, United States and Canada Region, Vice President, Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group. “The show was a tremendous success across the board. Sales were strong across our entire portfolio, particularly in the areas of digital prepress and printing.” The KODAK MARKETMOVER Network, a new service that connects print providers to an expanded pool of marketers who need printing services, received positive attention from print providers, trade media and industry analysts. The unique commerce networking service, introduced at a press conference on Sunday, Oct. 15, will help printers grow at the same time that it makes it easier for marketers to leverage new applications, such as web to print, to maximize their return on investment. Strong sales of the KODAK NEXPRESS digital production color presses, KODAK DIGIMASTER black and white print systems, and KODAK VERSAMARK printing systems reflected customer interest in expanding digital print services. In addition to sales of continuous inkjet printing solutions, two new additions to the KODAK VERSAMARK D-Series printers were introduced. The VERSAMARK DS5222 and the VERSAMARK DS5340 printing systems feature improved speed and enhanced connectivity. Both systems can be configured with a Usage Tracking System (UTS), which reduces capital investment through a usage charge based on the amount of ink consumed. This lowers acquisition costs and opens up new markets for the technology and new opportunities for smaller printers. Kodak also launched a new member of its most productive and feature rich digital black and white production system at Graph Expo. The KODAK DIGIMASTER EX138 digital production system addresses the demanding needs of print buyers for faster turnaround time, and new and creative print on demand documents with high quality variable data printing and sophisticated finishing. Kodak experienced heavy booth traffic around its Unified Workflow solutions, which maximize efficiencies through automating processes in digital, conventional and hybrid printing systems. Visitors to Kodak’s booth previewed version 4 of the KODAK PRINERGY workflow system and learned how the new ADOBE PDF Print Engine technology and the ADOBE FLEX development environment helped Kodak improve the newest PRINERGY system release. Seven KODAK solutions earned “Must See ’ems” recognition at Graph Expo 2006, affirming the strength of the industry’s broadest and most innovative portfolio. KODAK solutions selected by the Must See ’ems committee include KODAK COLORFLOW technology, VERSAMARK D-series printing systems (DS5222 and DS5340), the KODAK Web-to-Unified Printing solution, KODAK THERMAL DIRECT non process printing plates, the NEXPRESS 2500 digital production color press, KODAK PRINERGY PDF Compare and PDF Merge software, and KODAK PRINERGY Layered PDF Versioning System, version 3. Several Kodak customers were honored during Graph Expo for printing excellence. Offset Multicolor, a 62 year old company in Mexico, won its third executive Golden Benny, viewed by many as the industry’s premier award for printers. KODAK products are backed by KODAK Service and Support, Kodak’s worldwide service organization. Named Best Support Organization at the 2006 International Business Awards, KODAK Service and Support includes more than 3,000 professionals in 120 countries. These professionals are fully qualified to help customers control costs, maximize productivity, and minimize business risk.
