Dynagram announces availability of inpO2

Press release from the issuing company

Quebec – October 23, 2006 – Dynagram, the innovative leader in imposition technology for prepress applications announced today the availability of inpO2 1.0, its latest imposition solution specifically designed for contemporary printers deploying end-to-end PDF workflows. Unlike any product currently on the market, inpO2 combines powerful imposition technology with an intuitive, familiar interface, based on the Adobe Acrobat platform. The recipe for the reinvention of the imposition process came because of two major demands from the market. For one, while some jobs may be easy to impose, others can be much trickier. Complex imposition jobs need to be tacked by sophisticated solutions. Two, dealing with complex imposition jobs does not mean the process has to be a nightmare. Many prepress departments are grappling with the fact that imposition is a craft that less and less employees master; training and maintaining knowledge—not only on imposition software, but on the imposition process itself—is a challenge printers face daily. A solution needed to be found to simplify imposition to meet this new production reality. “inpO2 is, simply, imposition…rethought,” explained Tracey-Lee Batsford, General Manager at Dynagram. “Dynagram gleaned requests from our OEM partners, worldwide sales network and directly with our customers. We combined the best of both worlds, enabling inpO2 customers to impose any type of imposition job, with a tool that is easily understood by novices and experts alike. If your job can fold, we can impose it. Without the headaches. Without the waste. And on time.” How it works The premise behind inpO2 is simple: using Acrobat viewer as a light table. Mission accomplished! Press sheets or plates are large PDF pages and the layout elements (press marks, page numbers, page outlines, handles, etc.) are pure PDF objects. Document pages to be imposed are then flown seamlessly in their native PDF environment. Being part of Acrobat thus allows for a 100% WYSIWYG imposition application where all the elements can be activated or not for screen preview or output. Standardized interface To reduce users’ learning curve, the interface ‘’look and feel’’ has been standardized to conform to other desktop publishing applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, QuarkXpress, etc. Users will easily recognize tool palettes, rulers, guides, snap options, view modes, edition palette, floating tabbed panels, right-click contextual menus, multi-level undo/redo, drag & drop and more. Imposition Objects inpO2 boasts a comprehensive set of imposition capabilities, adaptable to any type of press. The gripper zone can be set to prevent the use of non-printing paper areas. Adjustments can be made on both layout and document pages. Folding schemes can be saved and detected. Customizable Profiles The Profiles dialog sets the visibility of any PDF object on the light table. In addition to inpO2’s default working and output profiles, you can save your own for layout creation, soft proofing, hard proofing or imaging. A special ink separation can be defined for layout elements. Assembly Manager The Assembly Manager offers an innovative, intuitive, robust and flexible interface for job assembly and automatic pagination with its unique arborescence. Even the most complex paginations can be performed in just a few clicks. Document Manager and Color Table The Document Manager allows for quick and easy run list creation and displays convenient page thumbnails. Pages can be adjusted using PDF boxes. Marks and page colors can be mapped as needed and the result can be previewed in real time.
