Lasermax Roll Systems Exhibits Two New Products at Graph Expo 06

Press release from the issuing company

Chicago, IL (October 15, 2006) - The new RSF5 Folder and the new DocuSheeter NV roll feed system headline the Lasermax Roll Systems presence at the Graph Expo show in Chicago this week. Lasermax Roll Systems, the world's leading provider of productivity solutions for digital printing, also shows a variety of feeding and finishing systems for high-speed digital printers all around the Graph Expo show floor. At the Lasermax Roll Systems booth (#2641), the completely new RSF5 Folder is being shown in a technology demonstration. The RSF5 Folder is the key component in the new RS Fanfold HS system, an in-line bulk fanfolding solution for high-speed continuous digital printers. The folder runs pinless or pinfed paper, at speeds up to 700 feet per minute, and builds vertical stacks of fanfold forms up to 39" high for both long printer and inserter runs with a minimum of operator attention required. In the booth demonstration, RSF5 runs a 2-up statement application along with an RSU5 Unwind and Web Vision. Web Vision uses cameras to scan in-line the full width of the printed web to capture very large, high-resolution images for multiple types of automated quality analysis. Also in the Lasermax Roll booth, an LX Stack solution is producing 3-up book blocks, suitable for near-line binding. The LX Stack system shown includes the recently introduced LX561 Cutter and LX566 Stacker modules, featuring the capability to cut and stack paper basis weights as light as 40 gsm (11# bond). The new DocuSheeter NV roll feed system for the Xerox Nuvera Digital Production System is being exhibited in the Xerox booth (#1217). DocuSheeter NV consists of an unwinder, cutter, and transport. The unwinder feeds 50" diameter rolls to the cutter module; single sheets are then fed on demand to the Nuvera. The large rolls run for a shift or more before depleting, increasing both operator and printer productivity. DocuSheeter NV roll feed is ideal for Xerox Nuvera users running 11 x 17 applications, as it essentially becomes a tray holding nearly 30,000 ledger-sized sheets. At the Océ booth (#2462), the LX Saddle Stitch with IBIS Smart-binder is cutting, stitching and folding booklets from an Océ VarioStream 7000 printing system. LX Saddle Stitch consists of the Lasermax Roll Systems LX550 Unwind, LX561 Cutter and LX568 Feeder modules, feeding sheets to the IBIS Smart-binder. Alternatively, the LX Stack's LX566 Stacker and conveyor will stack 2-up and 3-up book blocks for near-line finishing. In the IBM booth (#2600), the center-shaft drive LX Roll-to-Roll provides feeding and finishing for a high-speed IBM digital printer. In the Kodak booth (#400), the surface drive RS Roll-to-Roll SD is feeding a Kodak Versamark VT3000. In the Canon booth (#1253), a DocuSheeter LS feeds roll paper to the newly introduced Canon imageRUNNER Pro 7138VP. Finally, a pair of LX550 Unwinds feed BÖWE Bell + Howell inserters in the BÖWE Bell + Howell booth (#421).
