In-Line Digital Book Production System Featuring the Delphax CR2200 to Be Demonstrated at MBO America Innovation Days

Press release from the issuing company

MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 5 2007 - Delphax Technologies Inc. a global provider of high-speed digital printing systems, will join forces with five other industry leaders this week to demonstrate an in-line perfect-bound book production system at MBO Open House Innovation Days Nov. 7-9 in Westampton, N.J.
Built around Delphax's CR2200, the fastest toner-based digital printer in the world, the system turns a roll of paper into finished books in a fully integrated, continuous process that permits economical production even on very short press runs.
In addition to the CR2200, the production line will also feature an array of state-of-the-art finishing equipment from Muller Martini, MBO America, Ehret, Palamides, and KTI. Among the system's key components are:
- MBO America's Digi-Folder, -- Ehret SVC 520C Sheeter -- KTI Unwinder -- Muller Martini's SigmaBinder (perfect binder), Sigma Tower (cooling tower) and SigmaTrimmer (three-knife trimmer). - Palamides' Signature Collator and Conveyor
The CR2200's design makes it compatible with a wide range of pre- and post-press equipment solutions proven in high-speed offset press environments. The Delphax CR Series was the world's first digital press to be offered with an in-line web-splicer for uninterrupted paper supply.
The on-demand book-printing solutions made possible by the CR Series digital press help publishers minimize inventories, warehousing costs and the risk of inventory obsolescence. Direct advantages include improved cycle times, higher productivity and reduced labor costs. The range of production capability also allows CR2200 Book Solution customers to increase the amount of short run work transferred from their offset presses, extending the benefits of print-on-demand and freeing up valuable offset press time better suited economically for other kinds of projects.
MBO America has hosted or co-hosted an annual Open House for nearly a decade, providing a focused, more personalized venue offering individualized attention to businesses of any size. Recognizing the market's demand for cooperative solutions from market leaders, this year's event will highlight the newest advancements in digital printing capabilities from more than 20 industry pacesetters. In addition to Delphax and its demonstration partners, Innovation Days exhibitors will include Baumer hhs, Bograma, Buskro, Colter + Peterson, H&H, Hohner, KBA, Lake Image Systems, Longford, and York Label Label-aire. The event is expected to draw attendance from the entire East Coast.
