Enfocus & Walsworth Publishing Announce 1000+ Instant PDF Installs

Press release from the issuing company

October 15, 2006 – Chicago, IL (Graph & Converting Expo) -- Enfocus, the world leader in PDF quality management solutions for the graphic arts industry, today announces that Walsworth Publishing, the leading commercial book and yearbook printer, has surpassed 1000 installations of Instant PDF 3 at its yearbook customers’ sites. The 1000th Instant PDF installation milestone was reached at the beginning of the 2006/7 school year and, according to Walsworth, has since well-surpassed that milestone. Walsworth’s Christoph Sisson, Digital Products Manager, says the company has had an official PDF submission program -- the only one of its kind in yearbook publishing – available to its customers over the past 6 years. “Enfocus’ Certified PDF and Instant PDF have been, and continue to be, integral to the success of our program.” Yearbook Creators Achieve Consistent PDF Output with Instant PDF Instant PDF, with Certified PDF technology at its core, provides document creators and document receivers the functionality they need to achieve consistent PDF output and quality control. Enfocus Instant PDF 3 removes the uncertainty and technical complexity from the PDF creation process. Instant PDF automatically guides the PDF creation and preflight process. Built-in synchronization with printer PDF requirements posted on www.certifiedpdf.net keeps settings up to date. Creative professionals don’t have to worry about numerous PDF creation settings. In addition, Instant PDF 3 provides in-application help detailing errors and fixes. Walsworth Customers Benefit For Walsworth, the latest version of Instant PDF 3 offers an added automation benefit: “Instant PDF offers an automated queue, so that at a click of the button, the PDF is sent through the entire certification process. This gives us the ability to stamp the PDF to certify its quality,” Sisson explains, adding that an actual, visual stamp signifying the PDF’s “passing” status is also a great advantage to both the customer and Walsworth’s production department. Practical, Real-World Training for Students The Walsworth PDF program gives its customers a way to be on the leading edge of technology. “Our customers are educators,” says Sisson. “Many are trying to give their students real experience in journalism, print, and publishing careers. This is a way to give students a taste of what it’s like to be in the real publishing environment, where more and more publishers are using PDF.” Greg Ruth, teacher and yearbook advisor at Mesa Verde Middle School in San Diego states, “We love working with Walsworth. They really have PDF file submission down pat. In addition to a ‘good to go’ check list and tools such as Enfocus Certified PDF technology, Walsworth has made it extremely straightforward for us.”
