Bitstream Announces Fulfillment Solution with Pageflex Storefront

Press release from the issuing company

CHICAGO----Oct. 16, 2006-- Bitstream Inc., the leading provider of variable data and Web-to-print software for personalized marketing, and Software Marketing Associates, Inc., providers of the PRO-MAIL System, announced today the availability of an interface between the PRO-MAIL Fulfillment Solution and Pageflex Storefront. With this interface commercial printers, fulfillment service bureaus and direct mailers can now offer their clients a seamless solution for placing Internet orders for pre-printed material and products, as well as customized print on demand products. Through a single PRO-MAIL Web shopping cart, users can now place orders for literature, premiums and other materials stored in the fulfillment warehouse, and at the same time, order customized pieces to be produced on demand. When ordering a customized piece, such as business cards or personalized sales collateral, users are seamlessly redirected to Pageflex Storefront, where they can indicate how the item is to be customized and preview the customized item on the screen. Upon submission of the order it is sent to the fulfillment warehouse for manufacturing and pick-n-pack. When the order is complete, including both the manufacturing and pick-n-pack, all items are shipped together. The PRO-MAIL Fulfillment Solution is a comprehensive browser-based software solution for literature, premium and merchandise fulfillment. It combines a flexible Order Management System with a powerful Warehouse System. With it, fulfillment projects are managed from order entry, to production and pick-n-pack and ship. Pageflex Storefront is a powerful solution for creating and managing Web-to-print document customization sites through an easy to use Web-based interface. Using a sequence of easy-to-follow editing steps, people ordering documents can provide custom content through form filling or direct interactive editing using only their Web browser. The customized document can be previewed on the screen prior to submitting the order. Scott Bussert, president of DataMart Direct in Hanover IL, is enthusiastic about the interface between PRO-MAIL and Pageflex Storefront, "As our business model evolves, we need the ability to not only distribute literature and products off the shelf for our clients, but also enable them to dynamically create customized and personalized literature printed-on-demand from the same web interface. But most importantly, still maintain complete tracking and reporting throughout the process from order to shipment. This is one of the main reasons we looked to the integration of PRO-MAIL and Pageflex Storefront. We think it brings us the best of both worlds."
