ICS Helping Implement Virtual Proofing, No Matter the Workflow

Press release from the issuing company

New York, NY; October 9, 2006 - Want to bring the power of virtual proofing into your workflow but aren't sure just how to do it? Let Integrated Color Solutions (ICS) help you. As the industry leader in providing virtual proofing solutions, ICS and its partners can integrate the company's Remote Director monitor proofing software into any digital workflow and will be demonstrating the software live during Graph Expo 2006 on Oct. 15 - 18 at Chicago's McCormick Place Convention Center. "Remote Director is designed to work seamlessly with existing systems to boost collaboration and productivity," said John Sweeney, vice president of sales and marketing for ICS. "By integrating our virtual proofing solution into existing digital proofing workflows and digital asset and content management systems, the entire process - beginning with the project's design and ending with it coming off of the press - is streamlined." Creative professionals will enjoy the integrated PANTONE color libraries, giving them greater latitude in their color matching abilities and the confidence that the final pieces will print just as they were intended. Remote Director has been integrated seamlessly into a number of systems, including Enfocus' PitStop Automate, Media Bank, Dalim and Xinet Digital Asset Management (DAM) workflows for several customers via the Remote Director API and the All Systems Integration enhancements. Users of these workflow systems can generate color-controlled collaborative virtual proofs and send them without leaving their native system. Their customers receive an email with a link to the proof that, when clicked, opens Remote Director and establishes verified color accuracy. The customers' comments or sign off is emailed back to the proof provider, and their DAM is notified of the proof status change automatically. "The ICS system enables photographers, agencies, clients, prepress shops and printers to communicate more effectively and efficiently than ever before," adds Sweeney. "And we help them monitor and control color within their own organizations and when working with one another." ICS not only provides the award-winning Remote Director for graphic design and prepress environments, but has also taken remote proofing press-side, eliminating the need for hard copy proofing in the pressroom. ICS will partner with Komori and GMI to demonstrate this capability live during Graph Expo. "We believe in this technology and it has great potential to benefit our industry," says Lee Edberg, Central PreMedia B.Direct Manager for Brown Printing, which is headquartered in Waseca, Minn., and also has facilities in East Greenville, Penn., and Woodstock, Ill. Brown Printing has installed Remote Director in the pressrooms of all three of its facilities and is already realizing that potential. "The opportunity to eliminate paper proofs at press will streamline our manufacturing process," adds Edberg. "Remote Director is the most advanced monitor proofing system to date, and we look forward to our partnership them." Remote Director also features: o support of Photoshop native (.psd) file format o ICC profile editing for better color manipulation and control o email notification, allowing for immediate notice of files ready for viewing/approval o single image sign-off o optional customer branding, allowing users to build and promote their brand to their clients With these new features, Remote Director users will enjoy enhanced integration into their digital workflow, and improved productivity. With support for JDF and Photoshop file formats, users are able to automate and expand their use of Remote Director. Email notification streamlines both the color correction and approval cycles, saving valuable time. ICS has also built Apago's PSServices and Grand Junction in to Remote Director to allow users to proof complete pages incorporating text, images and vector graphics as well as raster images. Remote Director features the built-in capabilities that today's creative and graphic arts professionals require, including a variety of file formats. Remote Director also features an API interface, enabling Remote Director to work with any open or JDF-compliant workflow. ICS will demonstrate Remote Director live throughout the show, at ICS Booth # 5634, as well as at various partner booths, including Graphics Microsystems, Inc. (Booth #3208), Komori (Booth #629), Artwork Systems/Enfocus Software (Booth #5229) and Fujifilm Graphic Systems USA, Inc. (Booth #4205). For more information, please visit www.icscolor.com.
