Classic Graphics Selects EFI Suite of MIS Solutions to Manage Growing Business

Press release from the issuing company

Foster City, Calif. - Oct. 3, 2006 - EFI, the world leader in digital controllers, superwide format printers and inks, and print management solutions, today announced that commercial printer Classic Graphics has selected and implemented EFI HagenT OA as its print management system, along with EFI PrintFlow and PrinterSite Internal to help more efficiently manage its business. Based in Charlotte, N.C., Classic Graphics employs 140 people in two locations with sales of approximately $25 million. The company was a long-time PSIT user, and after investigating all available MIS systems, they decided to remain an EFI customer but upgrade to Hagen OA. David Pitts, president and co-founder, said: "Hagen is the most comprehensive solution on the market today, and we're very happy we made the switch. Not only does the system help us realize efficiencies now, we know EFI will add many capabilities and extend Hagen's integration to other leading vendors in future releases." In addition to Hagen, Classic Graphics has installed PrintFlow to dynamically schedule jobs throughout the operation by automatically identifying the optimal path for each job based on the available resources, current workload and delivery schedules for all jobs. PrintFlow, an intelligent rules-based scheduling solution, builds the schedule with planning information provided by Hagen. Production receives priority-based run lists based on the current schedule and PrintFlow receives real-time production updates from Hagen's automated shop floor data collection. The company is also running PrinterSite Internal, providing the sales force, customer service representatives, estimators and production planners with direct access to an integrated data network that enables them to send and review quotes, submit and monitor orders, and review job status and invoices directly from Hagen. "With PrintFlow and PrinterSite Internal running alongside Hagen, we know we'll be able to shorten our planning cycle, take time out of the schedule, and eliminate errors, all leading to increased customer satisfaction and higher profits," said Pitts.
