PODi Announces Digital Print Guides and Briefings

Press release from the issuing company

Rochester, NY - October 3, 2006 - PODi, the Digital Printing Initiative, today announced a number of activities scheduled in conjunction with the upcoming Graph Expo show. Some, like an industry briefing, are available exclusively for PODi members, while other events, like the Ask the Experts session, are open to everyone. "PODi is committed to the growth of the digital printing marketplace, and Graph Expo is an excellent opportunity to reach a broad audience in the digital community," said Rab Govil, PODi President. "The variety of PODi activities being offered at Graph Expo will help print professionals maximize their learning experience at the event." PODi Members Show Guide PODi has developed a Show Guide that highlights the variable data applications that PODi vendors are showcasing at Graph Expo. The Show Guide to Business Growth and Profit with One-to-One Communications is available for download from the PODi Web site (www.podi.org). This convenient reference is useful for anyone who wants to see how digital print can improve the relevancy of communications or learn how to build these solutions. Ask the Experts Digital print is one of the best growth opportunities for PODi members today, but it raises tough questions. PODi will host a special "Ask the Experts" session at Graph Expo on October 17 from 10 am to noon to address the issues print professionals face when going digital. PODi's Dave Erlandson, Jim Frey and Rab Govil team up to personally respond to questions and share the latest in digital print solutions in this session with Xerox in Booth 1217. Best Practices Case Study Sample Pack To illustrate the benefits of digital printing PODi and several of its members are offering a Best Practices Sample Pack at Graph Expo. This Sample Pack contains highlights of several case studies from the sixth edition of the Best Practices in Digital Print report. The stories are told in terms of the project's business context, objectives, and results, and the information is enhanced with photography of the final applications. Whatever the metric used to define the results - a better response rate, an improvement in cost or turnaround time, or an increase in customer satisfaction - every case represents an outstanding example of some of the industry's more progressive work. The Best Practices Sample Pack will be available at the following Graph Expo booths: Canon, Booth 1253 Document Sciences, Booth 5454 EFI, Booth 4212 Hewlett-Packard, Booth 646 Xeikon - a Punch Graphix Brand, Booth 1245 Xerox, Booth 1217 PODi Members-Only Industry Briefing Part of the unique value of PODi membership is the exclusive networking opportunities offered at major industry gatherings. On October 16 from 7:30 am to 9:00 am, PODi Director of Content and Community George Alexander will present an overview of the hottest news from the show floor and recommend booths to visit for the latest in digital print technology. This gathering also provides an excellent opportunity for members to network with their peers, discuss challenges, and provide input to PODi. The briefing is open to employees of member companies. Register online at www.podi.org. A light continental breakfast will be served. For more information about any of these special opportunities, visit www.podi.org.
