Deluxe Names Mike Degeneffe New Chief Information Officer

ST. PAUL, Minn., Oct. 3 -- Deluxe Corporation announced today that it has hired Mike Degeneffe, 42, to become its chief information officer. Degeneffe will assume his new position October 9, 2006. He joins Deluxe from Residential Funding Corporation, a business unit of GMAC, where he served as its chief information officer and the enterprise chief technology officer. "We are pleased to have found someone with Mike's background and expertise," said Lee Schram, chief executive officer. "We were committed to finding an experienced IT leader with the right skills to help us pursue process improvements and cost reductions in IT and to leverage technology in support of our strategic goals. Mike's proven record in transforming and integrating businesses, creating an environment of accountability, execution, and cost management, while aligning resources and systems to achieve business results, make him an outstanding addition to our leadership team." Degeneffe has a broad range of experiences in IT, including six years at GMAC's business unit Residential Funding Corporation; five years at Diversified Pharmaceutical Services, a division of SmithKlein Beecham, which was sold to Express Scripts in 1999; five years at GE Capital Fleet Services, part of GE Capital; and four years at CFR/Lend Lease Cars, Inc. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from the University of Wisconsin in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
