Tensor to Build New Press for Editora Demar

Press release from the issuing company

WOODRIDGE, IL (October 31, 2007) - Editora Demar, S.A. de C.V. of Tamaulipas, Mexico, in its quest to become the newspaper leader of the state of Tamaulipas, has again contracted with Tensor Group, Inc. to supply press equipment.  The family-owned Editora Demar has purchased the eight-web, single-width press to replace its aging pressline that no longer meets the company's color and quality requirements.
The new Tensor press has a cutoff of 21" (533mm), a cost-saving move from the previous cutoff on the old press of 22.75" (568mm).  Four Tensor T-1400 series 4-highs, two 2-highs and an H-50 jaw folder with three formers complete the new line.  The units are equipped with remote inking systems, spiral brush dampening and motorized registration.  Eight zero-speed splicers feed the press.
Owned and operated by the Deandar family since 1932, Editora Demar has since produced and developed two of the leading newspapers in North Tamaulipas - El Manana de Laredo and El Manana de Reynosa.  Heriberto Deandar Amador founded the company; sons Heriberto César Deándar Martinez and Orlando Tomás Deándar Martinez presently control operations at the Reynosa newspaper, while daughter Ninfa Deándar Martinez controls the Laredo paper.  The family plans to continue producing newspapers, but also expect to contract commercial work in the near future.
Editora Demar purchased a Tensor 4-high tower in 1999 through Tensor's Mexican agency, Web Press Equipment S.A. de C.V.  The Deándar's were very pleased with the excellent service and professional capabilities of both Web Press and Tensor Group, and ultimately decided to purchase the Tensor press based on successful past experiences with both companies.
Don Gustafson, president of Tensor Group, remarked, "This is what we at Tensor work so hard to accomplish - repeat customers that continue to rely on us to meet their service needs and product quality expectations.  As their businesses grow and prosper, we feel we're right there with them along the way."
