Responsive Solutions Provides Multinational Variable Data Printing Application With Customer+

ST. PETERSBURG, FL, September 21, 2006 -- Responsive Solutions, Inc. (RSI), a full-service technology company with headquarters in St. Petersburg, FL, recently customized the Variable Data Printing Module of its new CUSTOMER+ Suite to provide DS Graphics of Lowell, MA, a national and global communications provider for the printing industry, with an innovative, international solution for one of its clients. The client, a large multinational provider of CAD software, was searching for a better way of providing training manuals to accompany its releases of new software. Brian Dodd, Director of Business Development, RSI, says, "By customizing our Variable Data Printing template for DS Graphics, we allowed them to print customized versions of their client's CAD training manuals that can be ordered by the client's value-added resellers in multiple languages and multiple currencies, in a single shopping experience. CUSTOMER+ is designed to increase print service providers' revenues by enabling them to offer their clients new, high-value benefits like this one." Launched in April at ON DEMAND 2006 in Philadelphia, CUSTOMER+ is a suite of fully integrated applications enabling the complete management of marketing collateral. RSI's solution for DS Graphics stemmed from talks the print service provider had with its client. DS Graphics, which had been printing training manuals for a global user base of more than 170,000, learned that its client was dissatisfied not only with the cost of printing but with the time and expense within their own company to ship the manuals around the world. Instead, the client wanted DS Graphics to print and fulfill the manuals-in new, customized versions-for the client's 243 value-added resellers, comprising 700 users in 82 countries. In addition, the client wanted the arrangement in place for this year's release of new software, not next year's, as it originally envisioned. Accordingly, what easily could have been a six-month project had to be completed within weeks. Having previously been in discussions about CUSTOMER+ and its templating module permitting 1-to-1 variable data printing, DS Graphics took the challenge to RSI. "By the end of six weeks," says Dodd, "we were able to use key features of our system to customize the module to meet DS Graphics' needs." As a result, DS Graphics is now using RSI's 1-to-1 printing feature to produce custom-branded books for each of its client's resellers, with the individual reseller's name, address and company name on the cover, in different languages. "The big challenge," says Dodd, "was enabling the value-added resellers to order some 116 titles in different languages in a single shopping-cart interface. Rather than having to submit multiple orders for the same book in different languages, as on Amazon, they can use a single item number to order books in 10 different languages and pay in U.S. dollars, the British pound sterling, or Euros. Another customization we performed allows the resellers the option of ordering by purchase order or credit card." Faced with a formidable challenge presented by its client, DS Graphics was able to call on RSI for a global communications solution that is offering new, customized benefits to its client. "In a rapidly evolving industry," says Dodd, "CUSTOMER+ helps providers with solutions that let them partner with their clients, for mutual profitability." RSI will present CUSTOMER+ in booth #5132 at Graph Expo in Chicago, Oct.15-18.
