EDSF Webinar Focuses On Industry Trends

ROLLING HILLS ESTATES, Calif. U.S.A (Sept. 15, 2006)--- EDSF (The Electronic Document Systems Foundation), the non-profit organization dedicated to the document management and communications marketplace, will present a free webinar, “Tracking Trends: EDSF Industry Expert Forum,” on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 2 p.m. EDT. This one-hour session will review EDSF’s 2006 co-branded research projects. The research projects highlight the dramatic changes within the world of document management and communications. The reports also focus on the key challenges organizations face as they incorporate the latest technology. Attendees of this interactive webinar will gain valuable knowledge and have the opportunity to ask questions. Presenters include: James Watson, Jr., Ph.D., president, Doculabs; Pete Basiliere, research director of printing markets, Gartner, Inc.; and Jim Hamilton, director of the print-on-demand service, InfoTrends. Organizations joining EDSF to sponsor this event are Group 1 Software, a Pitney Bowes Company, and WhatTheyThink.com. “EDSF is fortunate to collaborate with these key industry organizations and top-notch academic institutions to provide quality research at no charge for the document community,” said Jeanne Mowlds, EDSF executive director. “The webinar is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic dialog with some of the researchers behind these significant studies.” The following EDSF studies will be featured and discussed during the webinar: Document Communications Industry Trends – 2006: Produced by Doculabs and the Center for Research in Information Management (CRIM) at the University of Illinois at Chicago, the study focuses on the document market from a buyer’s perspective. Buyer market trends and key issues are also reviewed. Criticality of Printed Information in the Retail Industry: In this EDSF report, Gartner, Inc. and George Mason University identify the attitudes of store managers in the retail industry and examine how they relate to printing as part of the business process. Supplier and Service Provider Priorities – 2006: For this paper, InfoTrends and Clemson University conducted joint research that highlights perceptions of document suppliers and service providers. The study compares how both groups view sales projections, marketing efforts, digital color, mailing initiatives and much more.
