MAN Roland claims extraordinary year in press sales through first half of 2006

Press release from the issuing company

Westmont, Illinois — “MAN Roland is having an extraordinary year in sales, and the year isn’t over yet,” Yves Rogivue, CEO, says. “As our momentum builds, we continue to work together with our customers to make printing more rewarding. Whether they need our automation, workflow integration or added inline innovations, MAN Roland is consistently able to provide new ways for printers to profit with our presses.” MAN Roland’s sales were up 20% to $1.16 billion the first six months of this year, while many of its competitors had marginal improvements or lost significant ground in key areas. “We’re making gains across the board and opening up a more significant lead over all the press makers that are behind us,” Rogivue says. “MAN Roland is number one in web presses, and every day we’re closing the gap on the sheetfed front-runner.” MAN Roland achieved significant gains in all areas during the first half of this year compared to 2005. Order intake was up 22% — a 15% rise for sheetfed and a 28% upturn for web. Sales rose 20% — 16% for sheetfed and 24% for web. Order backlog rose 8% to over $2 billion. And earnings before taxes and interest amounted to $61.4 million. “At Graph Expo, we look forward to taking North American printers where they want to go — to a world of innovation, opportunity, profitability, and automation,” Rogivue says.
