Kodak Gives Label Printers Tools to Grow with Workflow and Proofing Bundle

Press release from the issuing company

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Sept. 11 -- KODAK workflow and proofing bundles offer an easy to implement solution for label printers looking to reach new levels of customer service and business growth. Pairing the KODAK APPROVAL NX digital color imaging system with the KODAK PRINERGY POWERPACK workflow system combines the only digital halftone proofing system that allows printers to produce dot for dot color accurate packaging mockups and proofs-on any substrate their customers demand-with modular, easy to use PDF digital front end software. The system creates a predictable, reliable manufacturing process that helps reduce production errors and optimize material usage. Kodak will demonstrate this unique workflow plus proofing bundle for the packaging industry in booth 1693 at Labelexpo Americas in Chicago from September 11-14, 2006. Attendees who place an order for a KODAK APPROVAL system and PRINERGY POWERPACK software bundle at the show will receive free additional software and training with their purchase. Purchasers will have the option of choosing between two software options valued at up to $13,600. The options include one additional PRINERGY POWERPACK software client bundle or Kodak's advanced flexo screening bundle, which includes award winning KODAK HYPERFLEX resolution enhancement software. "Color accuracy and turnaround time are two of the most important demands our packaging customers face every day," said Vic Stalam, General Manager, Packaging, Kodak's Graphic Communications Group. "Our proofing and workflow bundles address both issues, providing an easy to implement solution that drives efficiency and delivers brand worthy color." The KODAK APPROVAL NX system advances the line of APPROVAL thermal halftone proofers to unprecedented heights of performance. One of the fastest, most productive digital halftone proofing systems available, the APPROVAL system is among the most specified by agency creatives and brand owners worldwide because of its ability to capture and demonstrate the exact appearance of the final printed package on the substrate of choice. The APPROVAL NX system can accurately simulate all production processes, and generate millions of brilliant spot, specialty, corporate and brand colors, including lustrous metallics. The APPROVAL NX system can control density and dot gain, and print on actual printing stock and substrates. This allows APPROVAL proofers to render contract quality packaging and commercial proofs so precisely that they match the press and can eliminate the need for press checks. The Labels Group of Meyers Printing Companies in Minneapolis uses the APPROVAL NX system to proof projects for many of the world's top brands. "Our customers are very demanding. They are some of the most sophisticated companies in the world," said Matthew Moffett, Vice President of manufacturing for the Labels Group. "The APPROVAL system produces a better contract proof-it gives us a closer match to press color. And unlike other systems, it can proof opaque whites, which is essential for printing on clear films where we need a white background." The PRINERGY POWERPACK workflow system delivers specialized packaging prepress tools needed to color manage, trap and step 1-up packaging files for production. PRINERGY POWERPACK workflow software features intuitive PDF production tools to automate file preparation and correction cycles, plate creation, trapping and other workflow processes to reduce errors, increase productivity, and help customers get their products to market more quickly. KODAK products are backed by KODAK Service and Support, Kodak's worldwide service organization. Named Best Support Organization at the 2006 International Business Awards, KODAK Service and Support includes more than 3,000 professionals in 120 countries. These professionals are fully qualified to help customers control costs, maximize productivity, and minimize business risk.
