Enovation and Fujifilm Come Together to Offer 'Digital Solutions From Proof to Plate' at Labelexpo

Press release from the issuing company

VALHALLA, N.Y. (September 11, 2006) - Enovation and Fujifilm will come together at Labelexpo Americas to present "Digital Solutions From Proof to Plate" and to demonstrate a number of devices when the annual conference and expo kicks off in Chicago on Sept. 11-14, 2006. As part of the "Digital Solutions From Proof to Plate" theme, show attendees will be able to see a full digital workflow - all the way from proof to plate - from the industry's best manufacturers, including Fujifilm and MacDermid Printing Solutions. The solutions are available through Enovation Graphic Systems, which adds its extensive service and distribution network to Fujifilm's expertise in color proofing and to the best-in-class products and solutions from other industry manufacturers to offer complete and reliable solutions. The definition of high-end color proofing, the Fujifilm FinalProof GxT, will be running live throughout the show. Thanks to advanced color management technology, the FinalProof GxT digital halftone proofer possesses unprecedented color matching capabilities. The addition of special donors (including red, reflex blue, green and orange) allows for extensive spot color rendering, while the silver metallic and opaque white donors make the device the optimal proofing system for the specialty packaging and brand design markets. "The enhancements offered by FinalProof GxT were designed specifically with the flexographic printing market in mind - opaque white and metallic donors, variable density, the expanded color gamut and the ability to laminate to nearly any substrate," explains Ted Schaffer, business manager for ink, blankets and flexo products for Enovation. "FinalProof GxT is ideal for flexo printers because it allows them to show their customers exactly what the printed piece will look like on press. It can actually be used to create product samples. No other proofing system offers this flexibility." Enovation will also be exhibiting the new PlateRite FX870 flexographic CTP imager from Screen USA. The PlateRite FX870, developed by the Media Technology Company of Dainippon Screen Manufacturing Co., Ltd., is designed to meet the needs of the package printing industry. Screen unveiled the platesetter at IPEX 2006 last April in Birmingham, England. The PlateRite FX870 takes advantage of customer-proven technologies engineered into Screen's PlateRite series CTP devices for offset printing. It is a high-performance CTP system that supports advanced digital flexo plates up to 34.2 x 30 inches. It enables high-quality printing of labels, flexible packaging, corrugated, carton and security printing. Standout features include enhanced reproducibility of highlighted areas. Screen will also showcase its "Packstudio SE" workflow in conjunction with the imager. "Enovation is excited to showcase the Screen PlateRite FX870 in our booth," said Schaffer. "Screen's expertise in imaging, married with Enovation's vast technical support network and MacDermid plates, offer our customers a complete portfolio of digital products. From the workflow all the way through to the finished product on press, Enovation and Screen can take their customers to new levels of print quality." In addition to the new Fujifilm FinalProof GxT and Screen PlateRite FX870 CTP device, the company will also be showing a variety of digital printing plates from MacDermid Printing Solutions, including the Digital MLT thermal, Digital MUST and Digital Rave plates. Each is highly durable and reliable and offers longer runs, less dot wear and reduced tack. With these plates, printers can expect to see significant reductions in dot gain on press and minimal tonal correction in the screening process. "Enovation offers the complete line of MacDermid analog and digital photopolymer plates," added Schaffer. "Thermal or solvent processing, we offer customers a variety of best-in-class products that allow production of up to 200 lpi four-color process. Matching the plates with Fuji's expertise in color and high tech mounting tapes from Tesa, we are now seeing incredible print quality off flexo presses - truly rivaling lithography."
