Kwik Kopy Printing Adds Efficiency with Sakurai 4-color Press and Mitsubishi Platesetter

Press release from the issuing company

(Wood Dale, Illinois) Fuller Grafix Inc has sold and installed a new Sakurai 466SI 26" 4-color press and a Mitsubishi DPX4 Platesetter at Kwik Kopy Printing in Crown Point, Indiana. The new equipment was purchased to maintain Kwik Kopy's leadership position in the area, to meet a 10% increase in sales from the previous year and to expand their full color capabilities. Dart & Sandy Koedyker began their Kwik Kopy operation in 1985 and son Tim Koedyker and Phil Ruschak joined as partners a few years later. The business has grown considerably and this year they were honored by their parent corporation, ICED, for having the largest sales volume Kwik Kopy shop in the US. In order to meet demand and plan for the future, the Kwik Kopy team began looking at digital presses along with conventional ink and water process presses. "We eliminated the digital presses first and then began looking harder at Ryobi, Heidelberg, and Sakurai. After long discussions with Larry Fuller and Gary Kirchner of Fuller Grafix, Inc., they proposed the best fit for our market area and shop size. They were more than salesmen with us and wanted to ensure that the fit of both the press and platesetter was right for our market," Dart Koedyker said. Based on recommendations from Fuller Grafix Inc., Kwik Kopy decided on the addition of a fully automated Sakurai 466SI press with the sheet size of 19" x 26" (4-up) equipped with CIP3 ink key presets and numerous other automated features and the new Mitsubishi DPX4 Platesetter with dual cassette capability. "This press and platesetter with automation allows us to turn around full color jobs quicker than in the past and with a reduced price to the customer. The competition in our market is using either the 12" x 18" or 14" x 20" format presses. Being the first in this area with the capability to produce 4-up is a huge advantage. Fuller Grafix, Inc. also made the transition from trading in our 6 year old Ryobi and replacing it with the Sakurai almost painless. The scheduling and coordinating of replacing the old equipment with the new was done so well that we were up and running the new platesetter in 1 day and the press in 3 days", further stated Dart. The addition of these two pieces of equipment will allow Kwik Kopy Printing to print high quality full color and spot color items without using negatives or metal plates. Fuller Grafix, Inc. is a full line new and used printing equipment dealer serving northern Illinois and northern Indiana representing manufacturers such as Sakurai, Hamada, Standard Horizon, Screen, Perfecta, Mitsubishi Imaging, Rena, Baum, Davlin, and more.
