Boston, MA – September 11, 2006 – In response to her success at last year’s Showcase2005 event, print consultant and author Margie Dana has been invited to deliver the keynote address for Showcase2006, the Print & Packaging Buyer’s Conference, in Leeds, UK, on October 5th. The leading print industry event in the UK, Showcase2006 is created to fuel opportunities for the print and packaging industry. Its exhibitors reflect the diversity and breadth of print, packaging and related services in the UK and beyond, and its seminars offer exceptional access to learning and networking with leading practitioners from across the globe. Dana’s keynote will address key trends in the US packaging and print industry, especially in the crucial area of buyer and supplier communications. Building on last year’s success Last year’s Showcase event – the first ever – drew more than 400 attendees to the Royal Armouries Museum for the day-long printing celebration. In addition to speaker presentations, there were exhibits by more than 45 printers and other graphic arts suppliers. The success was so great that over a third of the exhibitors pre-booked for 2006 before the marketing support was announced. Describing her appearance at Showcase 2005, Robert McClements, Director of Showcase2005, said that "Margie Dana lived up to her headline billing as the US Goddess of Print!" One attendee, Andrew Black from London College of Communication, echoed the formal feedback scores when he called Margie "the star of the program, revealing many US/UK similarities but reminding printers that they need to 'dare to be different.'" Dana is a former corporate print buyer turned consultant.
