This webinar is the first of a number of activities intended to support an educational program based on market research to address security and network requirements for the print providers. Paul Van Hoesen will host the webinar on September 7 from 2:00-3:30 PM EST. Topics of the webinar will help printers and IT managers to appreciate the importance of security and how it can be a value-added marketing opportunity among print buyers: * The basic elements of successful security plan * The primary security threats faced by printing companies * Requirements of database breach notification laws imposed by states * How to transform a security approach into a competitive advantage * Seven tip-offs to customers that a security system is inadequate * How to assemble a team that can promote a compelling security checklist and what tools they will need to be successful Paul Van Hoesen, a partner of Network PDF, Inc., has over 28 years of multi-faceted digital networking and Internet technology experience in a number of vertical markets, including publishing. He was co-founder and former CTO of Education Networks of America, the largest educational ISP in the U.S., connecting over 3,000 K-12 schools in numerous states. He is known for his ability to help decision-makers and stakeholders create sound technology and network strategies by leveraging network knowledge common to many vertical markets. In addition to the webinar, Network PDF is working to bridge existing associations such as PIA/GATF, CIP4, IDEAlliance, R & E Council, PODI, IPA, NGP and BRIDG's to develop The JDF Guide for Managers-a publication that will begin to explain the opportunity of using standards and the global network and growth of a rising creative economy. Trish Witkowski, President of Finishing Experts is working with Network PDF to develop and research the content for this project. Trish brings both a creative and "folding" finishing expertise with her FoldRite(tm) technology and educational efforts. The combined approach of the Network PDF team is to bridge the network and application layers to connect the print industry with the opportunities for innovation and growth in the creative economy. "There is a growing global interest in the creativity and design communities to connect and share ideas," comments Janice Reese, Network PDF Executive Director. "We believe this trend can provide print providers many new growth opportunities. However, in doing so, they must think of the individual, and ways of 'making print simple'. We hope the PIA/GATF webinar offer print providers ideas how they may link more closely with content originators."
