Kodak Signs Multi-Year Kiosk Contract with Wal-Mart

Press release from the issuing company

ROCHESTER, N.Y.--Sept. 6, 2006-- Further strengthening its leadership position in retail digital printing, Eastman Kodak Company today announced a new multi-year contract with Wal-Mart for digital photo kiosk equipment and consumables. The deal will add 2,000 Kodak Picture Kiosks to 1,000 Wal-Mart stores across the U.S. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. "This is proof that Kodak's digital innovation and understanding of the consumer is a distinct competitive advantage," said Nicki Zongrone, Kodak's Worldwide Kiosk General Manager and Vice President, Consumer Digital Imaging Group. "Wal-Mart recognized the benefit of Kodak's modular, upgradeable and flexible kiosk platform to help their business grow and provide consumers with an easy way to get high quality digital prints in as little as four seconds." Kodak's new G4 Picture Kiosk platform represents an entirely new category of high performing photo kiosks, with significant improvements in speed, performance, reliability and styling. The G4 Picture Kiosk supports all popular digital media formats (e.g., memory cards, USB drives, CDs/DVDs), digital scanning, and wireless printing via BLUETOOTH and infrared technologies. The kiosks apply an XTRALIFE coating to the prints to provide extra protection against stains, spills and fingerprints. Inside the attractive new body is a high-performance processor that delivers 4x6 prints in as fast as four seconds. As the world's leader in retail photo kiosks, Kodak has more than 80,000 units installed at retail locations across the globe, which provide self-service lab quality prints in seconds to millions of consumers. As retailers continue to look for flexible and customizable solutions to meet their unique customer needs and differentiate their store offerings, Kodak continues to build solutions based on an in-depth worldwide knowledge of consumer behavior, including calendars, 4x6 prints, enlargements and special border prints - all printed in seconds.
