Quality Printing Company Installs Fourth Komori Press

Press release from the issuing company

Rolling Meadows, IL, September 5, 2006 -- Komori America Corporation, a premier manufacturer of sheetfed and web offset printing presses, today announced Quality Printing Company, a full service graphics communications company serving New England and New York, has recently installed an eight-color Lithrone S40 perfector with coater (LS840P). The advanced technology, extremely fast makeready speeds and multi-color perfecting capabilities were cited as key drivers in acquiring the new Komori press. It is the company’s fourth Komori press. “In today’s fast changing markets, keeping up with technology and speed to market have always been two of our company’s main goals. Our new Komori press will cut the time of our press runs in half, saving our customers both time and money,” said John DiSantis, president and CEO of Quality Printing Company. “This is the largest machinery investment our company has made to date. We are very excited about taking full advantage of the intuitive technology embodied in the LS840P. It poises our company for expansion and growth over the next several years.” Quality Printing reports the purchase of the Komori LS840P allows them to offer the only 4/4 color perfecting press of this size within the demographic area they serve. The company chose the press for its advanced technologies that include automated makeready and an integrated command center for increased efficiency. The perfecting feature allows the press to print in four-color process on both sides of the sheet in one pass through the press. Additional considerations in choosing the eight-color press were its ability to provide accurate consistent color. The LS840P allows for complex ink and varnish schemes and electronically stores the ink densities and run information for consistent reprints. The quick makeready, run speeds of 15,000 sheets per hour and the ability to run on stock as thick as 40-point make it possible for Quality Printing to take on additional print projects without adding additional resources. “The level of automation inherent in the Lithrone S40 will give Quality Printing Company the opportunity to expand its business with ease and efficiency,” said Ken Sabol, vice president of sales for Komori’s Eastern Region. “It is a press specifically designed for a profit-focused, network-oriented print environment, such as the one at Quality Printing. We are pleased to be a part of the company’s planned growth.”
