LithoTechnics to launch Metrix 2.0, supporting multi-signature bound jobs, at GRAPH EXPO 2006

Press release from the issuing company

Sydney, Australia, August 28, 2006 – At GRAPH EXPO 2006 LithoTechnics will launch the newest version of their award-winning product, Metrix. Version 2.0 incorporates all the ease of use and sophisticated ganging technology of Metrix, but adds for the first time the ability to dynamically and automatically calculate multi-signature bound jobs, directly from operator input, or from MIS system data. Metrix 2.0 will be demonstrated at LithoTechnics' booth #5242, and at various other partner locations throughout the show. Metrix 2.0 extends job planning automation to the broad commercial market, and heralds a comprehensive change in the way the printing industry plans and imposes work. Metrix handles all work dynamically and automatically, at the click of a button, transforming the laborious layout planning process into a quick and easy step in the print production workflow. Rohan Holt, LithoTechnics founder states: “Metrix is unlike any job planning system on the market. We designed Metrix with clear goals – ease of use was of paramount importance. Secondly, we wanted to facilitate just-in-time production decisions, so we designed editing to be dynamic and intelligent.” Holt continues, “We tackled the most difficult type of work – ganging – first, because we knew it would be a rock-solid foundation for the future. Now, with book work added, Metrix users will benefit from the best of both worlds.” Customers who have used Metrix 2.0 have described it as ground-breaking in the way it handles all types of planning and imposition. Moreover, its ability to tightly integrate with MIS systems by consuming complete job definition format (JDF) files makes Metrix 2.0 an indispensable tool in the battle for efficiency and profitability. Joe Novak, Director of Technology at Williamson Printing Corporation, Dallas, Texas, said, “We were the initial beta site for Metrix 2.0... we find it to be feature rich, easy to use and invaluable to our workflow. With Metrix, we are able to import JDF job descriptions from our MIS system, refine job plans as necessary, and transfer complex job layout information directly into our workflow. This has saved us a great deal of time and money, while minimizing errors in layout and imposition creation. Metrix v2.0 not only supports bound signature work, which is indispensable for us, but also supports the export of fully imposed print ready PDFs as a backup to our workflow system.” Metrix 2.0 will be demonstrated at GRAPH EXPO 2006 in booth #5242 and at various other partner locations throughout the show.
