Sappi employees at two North American mills vote to ratify new labor agreements

Press release from the issuing company

Global pulp and paper producer Sappi Limited has confirmed that labour negotiations have been successfully concluded with the United Steelworkers of America at two mills in North America. After three years of operating without having formal labour contracts in place, employees at Sappi's Somerset and Westbrook Mills have voted on and ratified labour agreements between Sappi Fine Paper North America and the United Steelworkers of America. The Somerset contract is valid for 4 years and the Westbrook contract for 2 years. Sappi's goal throughout the negotiations was to reach new labour agreements that were fair and competitive. Contract negotiations at Sappi's other mills in the United States, namely at Cloquet and Muskegon, are scheduled for September.
