Océ and Videk Join Forces to Provide Inline Total Document Quality and Security Monitoring

Press release from the issuing company

November 1, 2007 - Trumbull, CT and Rochester, NY - Océ and Videk announced they are working together to bring state-of-the-art verification systems to transactional and other operations with rigorous output quality and security monitoring requirements. Océ is a global leader in digital document management and delivery, and Videk is a leading manufacturer of document quality and security technology for the printing and mailing industries. Under the new agreement, Océ is now a reseller of the Videk Print Verification System (PVS) 8400 line and related services. Videk will support Océ by providing needs analysis, application support, installation and training to customers. The result is a turnkey assessment and implementation process that ensures content integrity and confidentiality, document quality and customer satisfaction.
To meet compliance regulations, operations must demonstrate the integrity and security of their document processes. With this new agreement, they can enhance their digital print workflow with proven verification tools for critical transaction applications that contain confidential information. Enterprises have the further advantage of a unified offering for all verification and quality assurance needs, from simple bar code readers to advanced full page scanning solutions. The PVS 8400 has the ability to read simplex and duplex pages, making it a good choice for customers using Océ digital printers for transaction and other applications requiring tracking and verification.
"With the support of Océ, Videk is extending the market scope for the PVS 8400, as well as assisting one of its largest partners in fulfilling the increasing demand for quality assurance and product integrity," noted Videk President and CEO Thomas Slechta. "This partnership affirms both companies' commitment to total document quality and customer satisfaction in pursuit of zero defects for production of statements and other transactional documents."
"There is strong need for output verification, especially from customers with transactional applications and others facing uncompromising regulatory and security expectations. With this new agreement, we bring these customers the market's best products to help them maintain the document integrity and tracking that are critical to their success and reputations," said Guy Broadhurst, Vice President of Product Marketing, Océ North America Commercial Printing Division.
Océ has long been recognized as the leader in the continuous feed market, where transaction applications often dominate. The InfoTrends report, "U.S. Production Copying & Printing Placements: 2006," placed Océ in the top position in the 80+ ppm roll fed segment, with over 49 percent of the 2006 market share of roll-fed printer placements in the United States. Océ has held the top spot in this segment since 2003, the first year InfoTrends began tracking market share for this category. Océ continues to innovate with new approaches to these markets, such as partnering with companies like Videk to provide technology for critical needs, and through state-of-the-art systems like the Océ VarioStream 9000 and 7000 series continuous feed printers.
The Videk PVS 8400 is a freestanding web transport with fully integrated inspection system, powered by Videk DocuVision software, which monitors document quality and data integrity. Using the latest in line-scan technology, the PVS 8400 scans both sides of every document for print quality defects, registration errors, matching, sequence checking, and barcode verification. The PVS 8400 is compatible with the entire line of Océ VarioStream continuous feed printers.
