Kodak Announces New Web-to-Unified Print Solution

Press release from the issuing company

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Aug. 23 -- Kodak announces a new web to print solution to be featured as a technology demonstration at Graph Expo. Production efficiencies and feature rich applications enabled by KODAK Unified Workflow solutions will expand to include web to print services with KODAK Web-to-Unified Print software. Kodak's Web-to-Unified Print solution combines a traditional web to print offering with the power of KODAK Unified Workflow's business, production, color and data solutions. Because Web-to-Unified Print software integrates fully with all other aspects of an operation, printers can provide more powerful web to print services and better manage their overall business. By seamlessly integrating web to print capabilities with KODAK Unified Workflow solutions, Kodak's new Web-to-Unified Print solution makes it easy and cost effective for print providers to offer new revenue generating applications using their existing workflow. Web-to-Unified Print software will be shown as a technology demonstration at Graph Expo in booth 400. Web to print solutions facilitate the ordering, creation, and on demand printing of static, personalized or customized communications materials, ordered and created via a web application. Web to print solutions expand business and profitability opportunities for print service providers. Advantages to marketers include improving the effectiveness of promotional materials and reducing the time to roll out new campaigns. "Kodak's Web-to-Unified Print represents the next generation of web to print solutions," said Chris Ries, Product Manager, Kodak's Graphic Communications Group. "Print providers and buyers continually seek new services and applications that will help them optimize the effectiveness of materials they produce for their customers. By adding Web-to-Unified Print to their current KODAK Unified Workflow solutions, printers can deliver higher value services to their customers without changing their entire system." The KODAK Web-to-Unified Print solution will be built by extending three established KODAK technology platforms. Storefront e-commerce capabilities will be enabled via KODAK InSite software; Personalized Pages for catalog and templated orders will be provided by KODAK EyeMedia software; and Digital Print Manager workflow automation will be delivered through the KODAK PRINERGY workflow system. Depending on which KODAK products a printer has invested in, additional KODAK Unified Workflow modules can be added to fully enable a Web-to-Unified Print solution. The KODAK Web-to-Unified Print solution is expected to be commercially available in the second quarter of 2007. KODAK products are backed by KODAK Service and Support, Kodak's worldwide service organization. Named Best Support Organization at the 2006 International Business Awards, KODAK Service and Support includes more than 3,000 professionals in 120 countries. These professionals are fully qualified to help customers control costs, maximize productivity, and minimize business risk.
