Muller Martini Valore stitcher brings a competitive edge to Disc Pro Printing & Graphics

Press release from the issuing company

Houston, Texas – Pockets that feed better, faster turnarounds of print finishing jobs, more satisfied customers: they’re all advantages that the Muller Martini Valore saddle stitcher has brought to Disc Pro Printing & Graphics since the stitcher was installed several months ago. And those advantages are adding up to increased sales and profit opportunities for Disc Pro. “Our Valore stitcher is giving us a tremendous competitive edge,” says Ed Dexter, Vice President of Production at Disc Pro Printing & Graphics. “We’re very happy.” Disc Pro Printing & Graphics, a commercial printer that produces a varied assortment of products including high-quality booklets, can now offer its customers an even more diverse array of print finishing possibilities as well as greater stitching speed for projects with tight deadlines. Besides its performance capabilities, another reason why Disc Pro decided upon the Valore saddle stitcher was the level of resources that Muller Martini – the world leader in print finishing – can provide. “The installation went smoothly with no problems and the support has been very good,” continues Mr. Dexter. The Muller Martini Valore saddle stitcher runs at up to 6,000 cycles per hour and it’s a cost-effective investment for printers who are looking to begin an automated stitching operation or expand an existing one as well as binders who handle projects with small- to mid-size run lengths. The sturdy and reliable Valore features 17” chain pitch and can stitch a wide range of products in several different sizes. Make-readies are fast and accurate, and the intuitive control system enables automatic positioning during set up. Precise trimming is completed by a three-knife trimmer. Thickness control by ridge caliper ensures that only complete copies are stitched and trimmed. Furthermore, thickness measurement by Asac (Automatic self-adjusting caliper) automatically adjusts tolerances to ensure that products with different paper stocks are processed with the highest quality. In addition to quick set-up, exceptional quality and robust dependability, Valore is also designed to provide outstanding flexibility. Up to six twin feeders or five twin feeders and one folder feeder can be configured. A hand-feed station is also available optionally. And, three delivery versions are available: gathered, stitched and trimmed products are either counted and gathered in two trays, delivered in a shingle stream on a conveyor belt, or stacked by an Apollo compensating stacker.
