Printing Industries Credit Union Offers No Interest Loans for Fire Victims

Press release from the issuing company

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 31, 2007 -- Printing Industries Credit Union is offering Emergency Relief Loans of up to $5,000 at 0% interest to current and potential members affected by California's devastating wildfires.
"It could be days or even weeks before people receive funds from their insurance companies and FEMA," said Rick Dockery, PICU President/CEO. "In the meantime, people need money for food, lodging, replacing clothing, travel to a relative's home and other expenses. We want to put funds at their disposal immediately.
"We have a statewide field of membership, so we have to assume that some members were victims of the fires. We want to help them get back on their feet as quickly as possible."
The interest-free, no qualifying loans, which have terms up to 36 months, are available to members whose primary residence is in areas declared eligible for FEMA relief, including Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties.
Printing Industries Credit Union is located near downtown Los Angeles and has 6,200 members and $27.7 million in assets. It serves employees of the printing and graphic arts industry throughout California.
