PAF Announces Florida Print Awards

Orlando, Florida, August 17, 2006 – The Printing Association of Florida (PAF) today announced that 69 Florida-based printing, graphic arts companies and schools were awarded at the Printing Association of Florida’s 19th Annual Florida Print Awards, July 29th at a banquet dinner held at the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate, Orlando. The 2006 Best of Show Trophy winners include Franklin/Trade Graphics, LLC from Miami who was awarded the Spinola Printers Supply Inc. Golden Flamingo Trophy for capturing the most Best of Category honors; The Redd Paper Company Award, Best of Show, Division I: Carter Printing, Tampa; The Eastman Kodak Company Graphic Communications Group Award. Best of Show, Division II: The Color Express, Hialeah; The xpedx Award, Best of Show, Division III: Franklin/Trade Graphics, LLC, Miami; The Mac Papers, Inc. Award, Best of Show, Division IV: Procoel, S.A. Mexico. In the Best of Show, Student Division, the award went to Carine Carmack, Valencia Community College, Orlando. “The Florida Print Awards set a record number of entries this year and we are proud to report that we exceeded our old record of 888 entries set in 2001,” said Michael Streibig, president and CEO of the Printing Association of Florida. “This year, we beat that record by 129 with an impressive 1,017 entries from 69 printing companies and 198 student entries from 19 Florida schools.” In addition to the Best of Show divisions, sponsor trophies were presented in recognition of outstanding work in categories particularly difficult to judge or to recognize exemplary use of printing processes. Award - Best Annual Report: C & D Printing Company, St. Petersburg - The Hewlett-Packard Company Award – Best Digital Printing: Lawton Printers, Casselberry - The Komori America Corporation SE Award - Best Process Color Printing: Rinaldi Printing Company, Tampa - The MAN Roland North America, Inc. Award - Best Art Reproduction: Dynacolor Graphics, Inc., Miami - The MGI USA Award - Best Use of Color in Design: Southeastern Printing, Stuart - The Modular Mailing Solutions Award - Best Special Treatment: Martin Litho, Tampa - The Pitman Company Award - Best Poster: Franklin/Trade Graphics, LLC, Miami - The Shinohara Tech USA Inc. Award - Best Small Press: D.R.
