Trio of KODAK Solutions Boosts Productivity for California Printer

Press release from the issuing company

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Aug. 7 -- A desire to enhance his company’s productivity led Kamron Motamedi, President of American Printing and Copy, to install a trio of KODAK solutions. Motamedi selected KODAK PRINERGY EVO News software, a KODAK MAGNUS 400 platesetter and the MATCHPRINT Inkjet 9800 proofing solution to advance his time to press and grow his business. “We needed to improve our speed to press because that’s where we make our money,” explained Motamedi. “After a thorough review of different technologies and multiple vendors, Kodak became the single choice because they offered the best products in all three categories — workflow, proofing and computer to plate.” KODAK PRINERGY EVO software is an affordable PDF based, end to end workflow that increases efficiency and reduces the cost of production. An intuitive interface makes it easy to use. This scaleable workflow solution that can grow with customer expansion anchors Motamedi’s new productivity tools. He selected PRINERGY EVO software because of “superior function, ease of operation and power.” The PRINERGY EVO system’s primary feature is an end to end native PDF workflow, with JDF import and export for system integration and information exchange, as well as flexible connectivity to output devices. PRINERGY EVO software customers like Motamedi report that the system helps boost profitability by reducing the time it takes to get jobs on press. It can also improve the overall productivity of the entire print shop by preparing jobs more quickly and accurately for production. Further improving American Printing and Copy’s turnaround capability is the MAGNUS 400 platesetter, which saves Motamedi significant time when dealing with complicated jobs or last minutes client changes and plate remakes. “The MAGNUS 400 platesetter is so much faster than our previous system. For example, on difficult jobs, our pressman used to wait a couple of hours for the plates to image. Now we’re talking minutes, which is an incredible reduction,” explained Motamedi. “We also save significant time with last minute client changes. Instead of sending a customer home while we remake his or her plates, we can get the new plates produced while they grab a cup of coffee.” With a true six up drum size, the MAGNUS 400 platesetter allows you to image an extensive range of plate sizes, presenting new business opportunities. Exceptional imaging speeds, at up to 21 plates per hour, enable you to process jobs quickly with short lead times. The MAGNUS 400 platesetter also offers high quality screening of up to 250 lpi and STACCATO 25 micron screening for superior imaging. Additionally, variable continuous resolution enables you to match the resolution to the job’s requirements. The MAGNUS 400 platesetter is characterized by advanced modularity and automation: you can choose from various loading, imaging and speed options according to your printing needs. Motamedi’s new KODAK MATCHPRINT Inkjet 9800 proofing system adds to the productivity gains with its color accuracy, speed and direct connectivity to his PRINERGY EVO software. The SWOP certified MATCHPRINT Inkjet 9800 system includes a full line of MATCHPRINT Inkjet Proofing Media for high quality color, content, imposition and two-sided proofing. The Certified Process for Color Confirmation, an option on all MATCHPRINT Inkjet Proofers, enables American Printing and Copy to easily verify and certify that individual proofs meet SWOP or in house color standards. Since 1971, American Printing and Copy has served as a strategic partner to Bay Area clients by offering a one stop source for creative graphic design services, quality printing, reliable copying and on time finishing.
