RR Donnelley Awarded $110 Million Print-And-Mail Agreement With British Telecom

CHICAGO, July 31 -- R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company today announced that UK-based Astron, an RR Donnelley company and leading Document Business Process Outsourcing (DBPO) provider, has been awarded a multi-year, $110 million agreement by British Telecom, the leading telecommunication provider in the United Kingdom. Pursuant to the agreement, which renews and extends Astron's relationship with BT, Astron will provide print-and-mail services for bills, statements and reminders to all of BT's residential and business customers. Astron will also prepare and distribute billing via CD-ROM to select BT business customers. As well as providing this business service directly to BT in support of its billing processes, Astron will provide transactional mailing services to third parties for which BT provides total customer management, including local and central Government agencies. BT serves more than 20 million business and residential customers in the UK, with more than 30 million exchange lines, and provides network services to other licensed operators.
