The Martin Press Installs Second Komori Press

Press release from the issuing company

Rolling Meadows, IL, July 26, 2006 -- Komori America Corporation, a premier manufacturer of sheetfed and web offset printing presses, today announced The Martin Press, a commercial printer based in Torrance, California, has recently installed a Komori five-color Lithrone 28 (NL528) with coater. This is the second Komori press for The Martin Press having installed its first Komori press in 1991. The NL528 is delivering the high quality, fast turnaround and impressive color capability The Martin Press is known for offering clients, many of whom come from innovative design and marketing agencies. The Martin Press chose the NL528 for its efficiency as well as the positive experience the company has had in working with Komori over the past 15 years. "To be fair, we actually looked at several vendors before selecting the Lithrone 28 and Komori was always in the lead," said Paul Hanson, president of The Martin Press. "We've owned a Komori press for over a decade and it has absolutely been trouble-free, with almost no maintenance required. Today, so many of our jobs are short-run applications that require high quality coupled with a fast turnaround time. We needed a press that supports both. The Lithrone 28's advanced automation capabilities offer a record-short makeready that makes it possible for us to be competitive while meeting our customers' demands for quick turnaround of high-end five-color work. It opens up many opportunities for new business." With the efficiency of the NL528, The Martin Press is projecting a 50 percent increase in efficiency. Additionally, the company plans to take advantage of the versatile inline coating system on the press which will allow them to offer both aqueous and specialty coating applications. "The Martin Press has been a valuable Komori customer for many years and we are pleased we have provided a smooth experience for them," said Paul Peyrebrune, vice president of sales for Komori's Western Region. "The Lithrone 28 is a great choice for them as they are committed to providing their customers with outstanding quality at competitive prices. This press delivers both."
