Prompt Recovery and BlueCosmos merge to form a new kind of VDP company

Press release from the issuing company

JUL 26, 2006 Medina, OH - Ohio-based 1:1 marketing leaders, Prompt Recovery and BlueCosmos have merged to create a new kind of VDP company. The new name is Digital Rocket; it's tag line: "Data-fueled Marketing Products". Prompt Recovery president, Jeff Scott and BlueCosmos president, Bob Jump will team in running the new company. Digital Rocket will be a division of Prompt Recovery, headquartered in Medina, Ohio near Cleveland with a second office in Columbus. While, Digital Rocket houses an impressive blend of creative, data management, digital printing, mailing and customer relations talent, they're not using that talent as others do. Scott explains Digital Rocket's unique approach: "Most other VDP companies grow by doing project work. We create, print and sell our own niche marketing products so we evaluate outside projects with a different eye. We only take-on projects that have a good, profitable and unique product future." This product approach is what makes Digital Rocket different and they get their inspiration from a different kind of company: IKEA. Jump details the thinking behind their business strategy, "IKEA starts with good ideas, molds them into good designs and manufacturers them for mass distribution at low prices. Like IKEA customers, our customers are interested in form and function at affordable prices. We want to be known as the IKEA of our industry; the place to go for well designed, affordable marketing products that work." Jump and Scott aren't afraid to talk about affordable VDP prices. "Other companies are building digital businesses through partners and accepting varying projects across horizontal markets. In that model, you'd be hard-pressed to bring affordability into the conversation. We're not doing business that way," Scott said. Prompt Recovery started as a software development company in 1992 and brings retail point-of-sale and data expertise to the business. BlueCosmos, started in 1989 and built its business around creating branded, one-to-one customer communications for the financial and insurance industries. Both companies have a long history as Xerox business partners. Xerox provides Digital Rocket's print technology. The firm uses home-grown web-to-print and VDP software to manufacture their products in-house. The two partners first met in 2004 while speaking together at Xerox Innovate conferences. Scott recalls, "Bob and I walked away from those conferences with a strong sense that the VDP market was going to struggle for awhile. We felt that our product approach along with our unique blend of expertise, made a strong recipe for success. Our growth rate has proven that to be true." Digital Rocket markets niche products for the healthcare, retail, real estate and automotive industries. For more information, contact Jeff Scott at (888) 355-3412 or [email protected].
