Sarnub, Italy, orders Goss Universal 75 press for increased capacity

July 14th, 2006 – Sarnub Industrie Grafiche S.p.A. has ordered a shaftless Goss Universal 75 press for its facility in Cavaglià, Italy. The new press will offer local newspapers, including those with low circulations, higher color pagination with first-class quality. Moreover, it will provide additional capacity in order to produce advertising inserts for various newspaper titles including the daily Torino Cronaca and many of the main regional newspapers of Piemonte and Valle d’Aosta. Dr. Gandini, owner of Sarnub comments, “We have operated a Goss Community press for a number of years so when looking to expand our capacity and develop our facility we wanted to explore what else Goss had to offer. The Universal 75 press is proven in the market for high quality and unbeatable flexibility and will offer us advanced levels of automation. This will enable our production teams to meet the high demands of our customers while operating with streamlined efficiency.” The new press will be configured as two four-high towers, one two-high tower, a 2:3:3 folder with the added benefit of quarterfold capability, and four reelstands. Goss OPCS level 3 press controls have been specified with a wide range of presetting functionality including ink pre-setting from RIP data. Capable of printing 64 pages with four webs, the press will have a cutoff of 620 mm. Jennifer N’Guyen, Goss sales manager for Southern Europe concludes, “The Universal 75 press is a powerful workhorse for a wide range of applications. The design combines maximum flexibility with very high output. These are essential features for today’s publishers, especially those with contract print portfolios.” This latest order brings the number of Universal 75 presses ordered in the Italian market in the last two years to six, including more than 80 towers.
