Baldwin Receives Order from the Nikkei Group in Excess of $5 Million

Press release from the issuing company

SHELTON, Conn.--July 12, 2006-- Baldwin Technology Company, Inc., a leading global manufacturer of printing press accessories and control equipment, announced today that its subsidiary, Baldwin Japan, has secured an order valued in excess of $5 million from the Nikkei Group in Japan. The order is for Baldwin's high performance SD-H spray dampening systems and IMPACT SW blanket cleaning systems, which will be fitted on the newspaper presses for Nikkei Group's Japan Economic Journal. The systems are designed to improve print quality, reduce start-up waste and deliver major savings in water and ink consumption. The Nikkei Group placed the order following its decision to increase the number of color pages in the 48-page Japan Economic Journal from 12 to 24 for the Beijing Olympic Games in August 2008. President and COO Karl S. Puehringer, said, "The order from the Nikkei Group is a great start to our new fiscal year and it is one of the largest orders in our company's history. The order continues the long-term relationship Baldwin has had with the Nikkei Group. We are pleased that a leading name in the Japanese newspaper market such as the Japan Economic Journal will gain the benefits of Baldwin's technology for its customers."
