The program, sponsored by Adobe, will feature two seminars conducted by Claudia McCue of Practicalia, LLC, an Adobe Certified Trainer and much sought after speaker on modern print production. Beginning Friday, July 28, from 3:00 to 4:00 PM, Ms. McCue will discuss how to create, evaluate and modify PDF’s for optimum print output. The session will cover topics including: what makes for a healthy PDF, creating PDFs from Adobe Creative Suite 2 applications, understanding the alphabet: PDF/X-1a, PDF/X3 and PDF/A; using the forensic tools in Acrobat 7.0 Professional, fixing problems PDFs and what NOT to do with a PDF. Following, from 5:00 to 6:00 PM, Ms. McCue will provide insight into color management in a session titled: Color Management in the Creative Suite. The session will include a detailed discussion on how color management settings affect color mode changes, how to synchronize color settings across Creative Suite applications, common problems to avoid and recommended resources to learn more about color calibration and management. Both sessions are geared toward creative professionals and printers based on research conducted by The Printing Association of Florida with their members. Through this research, creating print-ready PDF and color management emerged as the top two challenges facing printers and their customers. To enhance the event experience, the Print Management Conference will once again feature the Graphics of the Future exhibition on Friday, July 28 from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm, Saturday, July 29 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm and again at 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
