Press release from the issuing company

The July 17 deadline for the fifth annual North and South American Printing Innovation with Xerox Imaging (PIXI) Awards is quickly approaching. Xerox will award more than $35,000 in travel certificates to the winners of the multinational competition, including a Best Use of Xerox Supplies award, created to recognize excellence in innovation in digital printing. Categories for this year’s competition include: •Variable print/one-to-one marketing communications – Targeted and data-driven printed materials produced from variable text and graphics, such as direct-mail marketing, promotional materials, customized brochures and coupons. •Short-run color – Color materials produced with digital or offset color printing. Items include point-of-purchase materials, posters, product brochures and marketing material. •Digital books and manuals – Any multiple-page finished document, such as fiction books, photography books, textbooks and manuals. •Monochrome and highlight color – High-volume transactional print job printed in black-and-white or black and one color, such as statements, bills, training manuals, product documentation, newsletters and fliers. Entries will be evaluated by an independent panel of judges on overall aesthetics, business effectiveness, use of Xerox digital technology and degree of innovation. Submission to the PIXI Awards contest is free, and winners will be announced at Graph Expo, a major commercial printing trade show, held Oct. 15-18 in Chicago.
