Marc Welch joins GMG Americas as Channel Manager

Norwell, MA, USA (June 20, 2006) – GMG Americas, the US-based office of GMG, supplier of high-end color management and proofing solutions, announces that Marc Welch has joined the company as Channel Manager. In this role, Marc will be responsible for developing and managing dealer channels— providing sales, marketing and training support programs. Welch has over 30 years of experience in the printing industry, with comprehensive knowledge of and marketing expertise in prepress technology—both in commercial printing and packaging. He comes to GMG from the Pitman Company and W Oliver Tripp Company, where he had similar roles responsible for electronic system sales for all solutions installed in New England. Welch has also been vice president of marketing for American Color Corporation, in charge of all sales training, new program development, trade shows, corporate sales support, national account sales activities, collateral production and developing corporate image. At Scitex America, he held a number of marketing and support roles. Welch understands prepress production from a hands-on perspective. He was plant manager at Concept Color, a $5MM tradeshop in Salt Lake City. As Channel Manager, Welch is responsible for developing and managing GMG Americas’ channels of distribution. He will be helping to create sales demand, providing direct selling at national accounts in cooperation with dealers, and supporting sales through the company’s dealer channels. He will be supporting the dealer sales organizations, training regional and local account personnel, and helping them position and sell GMG products. “GMG Americas is expanding operations to provide greater customer and reseller support. Marc is exactly the person GMG Americas was looking for: someone with great experience in the products, technologies, and dealer channels, as well as real-world experience in the customer’s production environment,” notes Jim Summers, president of GMG Americas. “Our reseller and customer support are critically important.
