Nominations Open for 2006 Best Workplace in the Americas Honor

Press release from the issuing company

Sewickley, Pennsylvania (June 20, 2006) –- The 2006 Best Workplace in the Americas program, honoring graphic arts companies’ exceptional human relations policies and practices, is accepting nominations for 2006. Developed to promote the notion that companies that provide a superior workplace maintain a successful workforce, the Best Workplace in the Americas allows companies to systematically compare their human relations programs and policies to other companies of similar size in the graphic arts industry. The program is run by the Human Relations Department of PIA/GATF. A team of experts in human relations practices will evaluate the nominations. Companies that meet a set of predetermined criteria are named a Best Workplace in the Americas. Next, the judges assess those companies, considering the size of the company, to select the “Best of the Best,” a group of graphic arts companies with exemplary HR practices. Companies honored in the “Best Workplace in the Americas” program receive a handsome plaque for display in its plant and national recognition through the trade press and local media promotion. All participants receive feedback from the judges, including a report comparing your company to others of like size. And new in 2006!—all participants will receive a free copy of the Best Practices of the Best Workplaces 2006 book, published in spring 2007. The Best Workplace in the Americas program reviews the eight key areas that employees value when evaluating a place to work. Nominees complete a simple survey that asks for information about: - Management Practices - Work Environment - Training and Development Opportunities - Workplace Health and Safety - Financial Security - Work-Life Balance - Recognition and Rewards - Health and Wellness Programs To enter the 2006 competition, download the survey form from the Human Relations Section at www.gain.net. The competition is open to any graphic arts company or supplier to the industry from the United States and Canada. Completed surveys must be received at PIA/GATF no later than September 15, 2006.
