Agfa Graphics China Renews Dealership Agreement with Founder

Beijing, China — 12 June 2006 — Agfa Graphics China announced today that it has renewed its dealership agreement for newspaper computer-to-plate (CtP) systems with Founder Electronics Co., Ltd. The alliance strengthens the long-term strategic partnership of Agfa and Founder in the China newspaper market. The agreement covers the sales of Agfa newspaper CtP systems in China, whereby Founder will provide Agfa’s latest :Polaris and :Advantage series of CtP equipment and technology to Chinese newspaper printers at the central, provincial and municipal levels. The dealership signing ceremony was officiated by Mr Peter Buytaert, President of Agfa Graphics Asia and Mr Liu Xiao Kun, President of Founder Electronics Corp., Ltd. Senior executives from the Printing and Printing Equipment Industries Association of China, namely Mr Xia Tian Jun, Chairman of the Newspaper Printing Committee and Mr Li Chen, Deputy Secretary General also attended as guests of honour. Founder has been Agfa’s sole distributor for the newspaper market in China since 1991. In the early years, Founder achieved great success in selling hundreds of Agfa computer-to-film systems (CtF). In 1998, Yang Cheng Evening News installed the first Agfa :Polaris CtP system in China. Today, over 30 Agfa newspaper CTP systems have been sold, including :Polaris 100 & 200, :PolarisX and :Advantage, making Agfa the market leader for digital prepress production of the Chinese newspaper market. Users include People’s Daily, People's Liberation Army Daily, Wen Hui Daily, Xin Min Evening Daily, Hu Bei Daily, Shengzhen Special Zone Daily, Zhe Jiang Daily and Wuxi Daily.
