IfraExpo 2006 heading for record participation

Press release from the issuing company

Darmstadt, 9 June 2006 – Already four months before IfraExpo 2006, more than 240 exhibitors have announced their participation in the most important event for the newspaper and media industries that will be held in Amsterdam for the 15th time. To date, bookings have been received for more than 13,000 m² exhibition floor space. This level of registration greatly exceeds those recorded at the same time before the exhibition in past years. All major suppliers will be represented from 9 to 12 October 2006 at the RAI exhibition grounds in the capital of the Netherlands, where they will be joined by many specialised producers of solutions for the media industry. An updated and complete list of exhibitors can be viewed on the website www.ifraexpo.com. Pre-registration for the exhibition: This year, Ifra has significantly lowered the visitor prices for pre-registration. Registering now online under www.ifraexpo.com as a visitor to the event can mean savings up to 53 percent on the entry price. In addition, pre-registered visitors receive their name badges for entry as well as further information by mail already before the exhibition, enabling them to proceed directly on-site through the entry control point without first having to go to the registration desk. Similarly, vouchers sent to visitors by exhibitors can be used to pre-register. IfraExpo EventPlanner: As a new service, Ifra offers visitors the possibility, already before the exhibition begins, to compile their personal timetable of all interesting events and activities at IfraExpo. This includes Ifra events as well as public presentations given by exhibitors on their stands. In this way, visits to the exhibition can be prepared even more efficiently. By accessing www.eventplanner.ifraexpo.com, lectures can be grouped by company, keyword, time, or main target audience, and printed out or imported into calendar programs, e.g. MS Outlook. AdsML Info-Session: From ad booking to invoicing – a complex business and communication process between advertising customer, publishing house and agency that even today continues to be done by phone and fax. The AdsML Consortium has set itself the objective to automate this process and to this end created the AdsML standard that will be completed for print and online in October. The standard will be presented and current projects reported about at a free information event on Tuesday, 10th October 2006, from 14.00 h to 16.00 h. Ifra XMA Cross Media Awards 2006: One of the highlights of this year’s IfraExpo in Amsterdam will be the presentation of the winners of the Ifra XMA Cross Media Awards 2006. Awaiting visitors will be a showing on 240 m² and in suitable surroundings of the best cross-media projects conducted to coincide with the Football World Cup 2006, as well as a programme including an opportunity to test their goal-shooting skills, play table football, participate in special tours and presentations of the XMA sponsors. The Ifra XMA Cross Media Awards 2006 are sponsored by dpa – Deutsche Presse Agentur, Kodak, Protec and UPM, and supported by Escenic. Media partners are Ifra newspaper techniques and Horizont. Publishing houses have the opportunity up to 31st July to enter for the awards under www.ifra.com/xma. Ifra stand and INCQC competition: Ifra will also have a stand in Amsterdam that will act as a meeting place for all of the industry. It is there that this year’s successful entrants for the International Newspaper Color Quality Club (INCQC) 2006–2008 competition, whose publications achieve a very high standard of printing quality, will be presented. IfraExpo Solution Parks: Innovative solutions offered by service providers to the media industry will be demonstrated in special Solution Parks. This year there will be two Solution Parks, each featuring a highly distinctive range of offerings: Multi-Platform Publishing Solutions (stand no. 2315) and Workflow Efficiency Solutions (stand no. 4220). Both are very topical areas that will be of interest to many publishing houses engaged in expanding their media channels or optimising their operating processes. The schedule of lectures for the Solution Parks is listed in the IfraExpo EventPlanner.
