ROCHESTER, N.Y., June 9 -- Frank Mayborn Enterprises in Temple, Texas; The Pueblo Chieftain in Pueblo, Colo.; SPC Printing Inc. in Hibbing, Minn.; Galveston Newspapers Inc. in Galveston, Texas; RiverTown Printing Group in Red Wing, Minn.; Times-Citizen Communications in Iowa Falls, Iowa; NPG Newspapers Inc. in Saint Joseph, Mo.; The Villages of Lake Sumter Inc. of The Villages, Fla.; and Ogden Publishing Corp. of Ogden, Utah, all recently purchased KODAK digital newspaper solutions to improve productivity and enhance quality. Frank Mayborn Enterprises, which prints a number of daily and weekly newspapers, including The Temple Daily Telegram, purchased a KODAK TRENDSETTER NEWS 70 thermal platesetter, KODAK digital plates, KODAK PRINERGY Evo workflow system and STACCATO screening. Frank Mayborn Enterprises is a member of the PAGE Co-op, a not for profit, member owned buying cooperative with 1,250 member newspapers across the United States that have a combined circulation of 10.3 million. Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group is a member of PAGE’s preferred suppliers program. “We looked at all of the different technologies on the market and recognized that thermal is the one everyone is migrating to today,” said Richard Herschler, Business Manager at The Temple Daily Telegram. “We evaluated all of the units out there and wanted something that was proven in the field. Kodak has the track record we wanted and offers the full range of solutions we felt we needed from a single supplier.” The Pueblo Chieftain, a member of PAGE Co-op, purchased two TRENDSETTER NEWS 70 platesetters and a PRINERGY Evo workflow system to handle its needs in printing 52,000 daily copies and 56,000 Sunday copies, along with three weekly newspapers, monthly and bimonthly publications, and monthly promotional projects. “We’re a medium size newspaper and PRINERGY Evo software is perfect for our operation. We decided to go with the TRENDSETTER NEWS platesetters after talking to a lot of people in the industry who confirmed to us that thermal CTP was the way to go,” said Ned Sutton, Production Director at The Pueblo Chieftain. SPC Printing Inc., a member of PAGE Co-op handling consolidated printing for 50 different publications across the Iron Range in northeast Minnesota, purchased a KODAK TRENDSETTER NEWS 100 platesetter, PRINERGY Evo workflow system and STACCATO screening for its production needs. “We felt Kodak’s technology offered the best fit for our business plan.
