Wednesday, June 07, 2006

Press release from the issuing company

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – June 6, 2006] – International Paper enhances its Carolina brand and announces exciting changes to create the Next Generation Carolina. With the improvements, Carolina Coated Cover that is currently 91 brightness will increase to 94 brightness and 145 CIE whiteness, while shifting to a new and improved blue-white shade. Carolina Ultra light-88 and MD Blanks are increasing to 88 brightness with a neutral-white shade. Customers will experience improved print contrast and snap as a result of the attractive, new shade of Carolina. With Carolina’s new 94 brightness and 145 CIE whiteness, International Paper offers a matching text and cover portfolio with its uncoated Williamsburg and Hammermill papers. The new Carolina Ultra light-88 and MD Blanks change simplifies the company’s offerings from four to two shades. With these changes, the brand streamlines to a more focused product portfolio, while continuing to offer our customers choices to meet their specific needs. “With the Next Generation Carolina, we are continuing to differentiate the Carolina brand with world class products and service,” said David Schwartz, marketing manager for International Paper’s Coated Bristols. “Our goal is to maintain the innovative leadership position that our customers have come to count on from Carolina.” Along with the brightness changes, International Paper is introducing several enhancements to its Carolina Digital line. New calipers and frequently requested sheet sizes have been added to better serve this growing segment. The Carolina stock item portfolio will also now include 18 pt. and 20 pt. C2S cartons in the top selling sizes. International Paper will begin selling the Next Generation Carolina at the end of June. Samples of the 10 pt. C1S and C2S are available by calling International Paper’s Sample Center at 1-800-221-0809.
