Ricoh Forms New Worldwide Division Dedicated to Document Solutions, Will Enhance Software Applications Offerings

LAS VEGAS, June 6 -- Ricoh Corporation announced today the establishment of the Document Solutions & Services Division (DSSD), chartered to develop and market Ricoh document solutions and services worldwide. DSSD will be coordinated as a single entity but will operate as two distinct groups within Ricoh Corporation and Ricoh Company, Ltd. Hede Nonaka, vice president of Marketing for Ricoh Corporation will become General Manager of DSSD/Japan reporting to Masamitsu Sakurai, Chairman, President & CEO of Ricoh Company Ltd. Mr. Nonaka has also been appointed the Senior Vice President of DSSD/US, reporting to Sam Ichioka, Chairman of Ricoh Corporation. "DSSD will allow Ricoh to deliver document solutions and services on a global basis by leveraging our industry-leading hardware solution platform, our international software development and professional services capabilities, and our strong IT alliance partner relationships," said Hede Nonaka. DSSD/US will be made up of three groups: the Document Solutions Marketing Center, the US Technology Center, and the NetSourcing Business Center. Yuki Uchida will oversee the Document Solutions Marketing Center, Mark Minshull will manage the US Technology Center, and the NetSourcing Business Center will by headed by Wayne Mize. Among the key groups within DSSD/Japan are the Document Solutions Development Center, headed by Toshiro Maruyama with responsibility for all Japan-based DSSD Engineering functions. "We are very excited about the formation of DSSD and the promises it holds for the future direction of the Company. We see the continued development and expansion of value-added solutions and services as the future, not only for Ricoh, but also for our industry," said Mr. Nonaka.
