VistaPrint signs order for four fully automated Label Systems from POLAR

Press release from the issuing company

October 24, 2007 - VistaPrint is the leading online supplier of high-quality graphic design services and customized printed products to small businesses and consumers. The company has recently purchased four automated label systems for its plants in Canada and the Netherlands. VistaPrint provides custom designed, full-color, low-cost printed products even in small quantities and already has five POLAR LabelSystems SC-21.
These automated cutting systems which POLAR had already supplied in the past as well as the new orders are a perfect fit for VistaPrints high-powered production lines. Depending on the size of the product, the systems are cutting and banding up to 1,500 jobs per hour.
Over 10 million small businesses and consumers have already chosen VistaPrint for products ranging from business cards and brochures to invitations and thank-you cards. Products are printed at VistaPrints two state-of-the-art plants in North America and Europe that total over 200,000 square feet of production space. A global company, VistaPrint employs more than 1,000 people and operates 18 localized websites serving over 120 countries around the world.
In the ordered SC-21 Label System the material is first cut into strips by a POLAR 137 Autotrim M automated cutter. After that, a POLAR Autocut 115 cuts the products to the required size. Finally the stacks are banded by a BM-105 multi-station bander. The strip cutting, feeding of strips to the Autocut, label cutting and the banding are all carried out in a fully-automated process. Compared to a conventional installation, this system can process the jobs from the raw sheet to the finished product in one go, and pays off in no time.
"Polar has been a reliable partner for us over the years," said Wendy Cebula, COO of VistaPrint. "We feel positive about the investment weve made in their cutting systems and are confident about this order for the
automated label systems."
