Press release from the issuing company

LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y.--June 5, 2006-- Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leading provider of office imaging systems, ink-jet technology and digital photography equipment, announced that OfficeMax, a leading office product and service provider for businesses and consumers, has agreed to install Canon's large format imagePROGRAF W6400 pigment ink printers in more than 500 OfficeMax Print and Document Service (PDS) Centers nationwide. The W6400 printer is Canon's 24-inch wide format solution for high quality printing of photos, posters, signage, graphs and various visual-aids. Through the use of Canon software and equipment, OfficeMax will now provide customers with high quality poster-sized photographic prints, crisp large visual aids and graphs, and professional customized posters and signage for any occasion. Based on past successes with Canon wide format equipment, OfficeMax chose to install an additional 500 imagePROGRAF W6400 printers in the company's PDS Centers to capitalize upon and capture the wide format printing opportunities in the market. Through a focus on emerging trends among Print and Document Service customers, OfficeMax identified a growing opportunity for more diverse output requirements. Beginning in March of this year, Canon began installing the imagePROGRAF W6400 printers in PDS Centers and will continue into early summer. "We are very pleased to roll-out the Canon imagePROGRAF printers to PDS Centers nationwide," said Brian Norris, senior vice president of OfficeMax Print and Document Services. "Using Canon's software solutions, our PDS Centers will be able to help retail customers produce high-quality large format prints from photos and allow us to supply commercial customers with professional quality customized signage. "Canon's reputation for reliability, print speed, high-quality output, and customer service aligns perfectly with OfficeMax's goal to deliver an unparalleled customer experience -- in service, in product, in time savings, and in value -- through a relentless focus on its customers," added Mr. Norris. "We are proud to grow our relationship with OfficeMax superstores. OfficeMax's use of our imagePROGRAF printers is proving to be the perfect example of creating value and opportunity for customers and individual stores with large format printing," remarked Tod Pike, senior vice president, Imaging Systems Group, Canon U.S.A., Inc. Canon's imagePROGRAF W6400 printers work to provide OfficeMax customers with fast high-quality prints while-they-wait. Along with the high quality devices OfficeMax is taking advantage of Canon's bundled software available with each wide format printer. Canon's PosterArtist Software provides for the simple creation of posters, signage and excellent photographic prints with nearly 200 templates and an extensive catalog of royalty-free images. Canon and its partners will be conducting in-depth training sessions for OfficeMax employees on software, hardware, and lamination of output. The imagePROGRAF W6400 printer will be installed in select PDS Centers by July 2006.
